The objective of the System Engineer is to provide superb customer service through remote and on-site support to our clients. The Systems Engineer will interact daily with clients in order to fully understand client needs, requests and requirements. Our technicians strive to:
»Successfully resolve incoming service tickets related to Window Operating Systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003-20XX as well as service projects with the goal of complete customer satisfaction
»Participates in the support and implementation of client solutions as well as advising clients on technical challenges facing their business
»Provide end user support for business related technologies
»Perform network diagnostics and repairs
»Assist clients by identifying opportunities to better utilize current business technology
»Maintain a thorough knowledge of IT products and services
»Continually update their expertise on concepts relating to business technology and the Microsoft platform
»Document all work performed in accordance with company procedures and system tools
»Reports to Lead System Engineer
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
»High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
»Minimum of 2 years of experience in hands on role working with Microsoft Server Operating Systems and installing Windows Desktop operating systems
»Working knowledge and at least 2 years experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Office applications
»Experience with Active Directory, Exchange and Small Business Server
»Experience with configuring and troubleshooting networks and firewalls
»Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, IIS, Exchange Server and VMWare
»Experience working on assigned tickets through completion and logging time and ticket status
»Experience supporting Backup processes and products (I.e. Acronis)
»Understanding of WLAN, security concepts
»Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
» Strong team player
»Must have experience and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical client representatives
»Must have a valid drivers’ license and a reliable working vehicle
»Ability to take part in on-call rotation
PREFERENCE GIVEN FOR:
»Experience with a ticketing system a plus.
»Industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+
Experience communicating with Remote Management and Monitoring tools and Network Operating Centers
