Job Description

The Category Advisor is an information expert skilled in the use of a broad set of analytical tools. The Category Advisor can distill insights from a variety of data sources to develop business plans that drive category and Kraft Heinz volume. The Category Advisor manages all activities relating to optimizing assortment and space management for assigned categories and customers.

The Category Advisor is the unbiased expert on key Kraft Heinz categories, customers’ shoppers, insight development, efficient assortment and optimal shelf placement. The Category Advisor identifies opportunities and addresses both Kraft’s and the customer’s needs through the integration of research (primary and secondary), analysis, insights, reporting and presentation. The Category Advisor is an expert in syndicated tools including scanner, HH panel, Spectra and other resources. The Category Advisor can apply and integrate buying dynamics such as purchase frequency, buy rate, buyer conversion and category leakage to consumer and shopper research to develop business-building recommendations. The Category Advisor can conduct assortment analysis and SKU optimization using syndicated tools and can create best-in-class planograms utilizing space management software.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities :
Unbiased expert on key Kraft Heinz categories, category drivers, customers and customer’s shoppers
Expert in the analysis of syndicated data (scanner, HH panel, Spectra, etc.) leading to key insights and business recommendations on distribution, assortment, pricing, and promotion.
Conducts assortment assessments and creates planograms for assigned categories and customers
Develops and integrates consumer, shopper and retailer insights to better inform targeted strategies, plans and decisions
Leverage insight resources to prioritize consumer and shopper needs and opportunities
Integrates data from a variety of sources to develop impactful customer-specific selling stories in support of key category business building initiatives.
Liaison to internal/external supply chain in regards to efficient assortment
Leads broader space initiatives across aisle and store
Understands and applies best-practice category management process
Implements Kraft Heinz Foods shelving principles and standards
Partners with Customer Business Leads in the development of insight-based new item presentations
Applies the full suite of tools against business issues.
Conducts training of customer teams to broaden their understanding of sales information and tools available for business tracking and analysis.
