· Four (4), 10-hour shifts.

Job Description
Lifeline Animal Urgent Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. As an integral part of our veterinary care team, the RVT will triage patients efficiently, prioritize treatments, and delegate tasks as needed. Responsibilities include:
- Accurately obtaining and reporting vital signs, promptly notifying veterinarians of any changes in patient status.
- Applying knowledge of common diseases and conditions to perform accurate patient triage and physical assessments.
- Administering medications via subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes, with understanding of potential adverse effects.
- Setting up, monitoring, and administering intravenous fluid therapy, including CRIs and blood transfusions.
- Participating in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care and sharing pertinent information with the team.
- Performing CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer.
- Collecting samples and conducting in-house diagnostic tests and imaging.
- Assisting with sedation and surgical anesthesia under veterinary supervision.
- Maintaining hospital and patient cleanliness using aseptic techniques and isolation protocols.
- Providing compassionate care and education to clients on pet care and treatment plans.
- Managing phone calls and addressing medical inquiries as necessary.
- Utilizing proper patient restraint techniques to ensure safety for team members and patients.
- Execute specialized medical procedures exclusive to Registered Veterinary Technicians, including but not limited to, suturing, splint application, anesthesia induction, and humane euthanasia.

Requirements:
· Required: Current RVT license in the State of California.
· Preferred: one (1) year of experience in a veterinary emergency or urgent care setting.
· Required: Fear Free Certification, or willingness to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
· Required: RECOVER certified, or willing to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
· Advanced medical math skills including calculation of continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
· Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent communication skills and dedication to patient care and client education.
· Physical requirements: fine motor skills, ability to stand for prolonged periods, able to lift 25 kg without assistance.
