Edelman is seeking a Brand intern for the Washington, DC office.

Basic Qualifications:
You must have an interest in communications and/or public relations and possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others.

About our Internship Program:
The duration of the internship is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months
Interns are paid $14.00 per hour and are eligible for overtime
Most of our interns are post-graduates and work a full-time schedule (Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

Preferred Qualifications:A basic understanding of:
Research and media list building tools (Cision, Muck Rack, etc.)
Media monitoring and analysis
How to write press materials (pitches, press releases, etc.)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including SharePoint and Team
Solid organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Strong scheduling and time/project management skills; possess the ability to balance multiple deadlines simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Support supervisors with account management for designated clients
Work closely with supervisors to develop media performance reports (pulling data and developing insights)
Familiarity with the public relations and communications disciplines through past coursework or other internships
Ability to collaborate with a variety of account service staff

Read daily news stories and identify trends relevant to clients
Monitor client competitor initiatives and media coverage
Prepare press kits for distribution
Actively participate in internal brainstorms
Compile media coverage for client reports
Identify and pitch key media targets
Draft pitch letters and/or email pitch memos to vendors
Conduct and compile research, including landscape analyses and media audits
Draft briefing documents for clients
Gain a basic understanding of key client information, including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors in the marketplace
