Job Summary : Under the direction of the Chief Operating Office, administers and directs the program of operation and maintenance of buildings, equipment and hospital grounds. The Director develops and administers preventive maintenance schedules for all fixed equipment, including electrical, mechanical, heating and cooling, plumbing, carpentry and painting. Responsibilities extends to approval of purchase requisitions for equipment and supplies. They will have responsibilities for the department's function in fire and other disaster situations and coordinates the activities of biomedical engineering and electrical safety in the hospital. Is responsible for maintenance of grounds and service buildings. Participates in long-range planning for capital building programs and project development. Functions as safety officer as outlined in TJC Environment of Care Standards.
Job Summary: Bachelor's degree required. Must have 5-years experience in one or more building trades in either electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning or carpentry . Candidates must have at least 1-year Healthcare experience and 4-years supervisory experience. Previous experience in construction preferred. Knowledge of state and federal hazardous and biological waste preferred. Knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission regulations preferred. Must have certified Healthcare Management Certificate (CHFM) or ability to obtain.
