Do you desire to be part of a hardworking, dynamic IT operations team that is passionate about helping people solve IT problems? Is your expertise in data analytics, visualization or reporting? Are you keenly interested in working in an environment that offers the opportunity to partner with staff and program management stakeholders on projects?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

We are seeking an IT Data Analyst to join our Desktop Services group. As an IT Data Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing, developing and engineering reports that support data-driven decision making throughout the department. You will work closely with department management to deliver analytical insights, which drive operational initiatives.

As an IT Data Analyst you will:
Use tools such as ServiceNow Reporting and Performance Analytics, Power BI, Excel, SQL, Denodo and Splunk to develop dashboards to highlight key performance indicators
Collect, organize, and analyze complex batches of data from multiple sources to interpret trends or patterns
Prepare documents and presentation materials to include analytics and data findings
Serve as a subject matter expert to develop, implement, and troubleshoot reporting models
Partner with project team and program management stakeholders to ensure proper insights are delivered and communicated
Create adhoc reports as needed

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

Have a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent related training, certification, and professional years of work experience.
Have the ability to use visualization/dashboard design techniques and tools for data analysis and presentation
Have knowledge of basic database table schema
Have an understanding of ITSM Tools
Are knowledgeable of the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) Process for data management
Are proficient in Microsoft Excel
Have experience working with users to elicit requirements and developing solutions to meet business needs
Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Possess strong oral and written communication skills including technical and non-technical audiences
Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Have hands-on experience with ServiceNow Reporting and the Performance Analytics Tool
Have experience using Power BI, Denodo, SQL, Splunk
Experience working in IT Operations with an understanding of ITIL processes
