The Project Engineer is responsible for preparing basic and advanced reports and work plans in accordance with our Policies and Procedures and Standard Industry Practice. The Project Engineer is responsible for performing a wide range of field and office services at the direction of the Manager. As such, the duties are broad in nature, but may include the following:
Assist with proposal preparation for water and wastewater treatment projects.
Collect operational and water quality data to evaluate treatment system performance.
Prepare test plans and reports to clients and present project results.
Install, start-up, operate, and trouble-shoot bench/pilot/demonstration scale systems.
Travel to the project site to conduct project tasks; provide timely response to managers and clients on project tasks.
Conduct engineering feasibility analyses and preliminary design.
Help with design of water and wastewater treatment systems and develop design drawings and specifications.
Assist project managers to manage project timeline and budget including PO and invoices.
Interact with clients, permitting agencies and other firms in the execution of engineering projects.
Identify RFP and funding opportunities and help the team to prepare proposals.
Assist project manager to prepare cost proposals and documents (scoping documents, letter proposals, full proposals).
Participate in local and national water and wastewater professional organizations and preparing, coordinating, and presenting market specific papers and presentations.
Assist in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs.
Complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40 hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8-hour refresher classes.
Practice safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
Participate in company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
Perform other duties as assigned.
4+ years of engineering-related experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
Professional Engineering Registration in progress
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Ability/willingness to travel and carry tools
Proficient with Microsoft Office software and PC programs
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Strong Problem solving and analytical skills
Solid organization and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
English language competency
Ability/willingness to travel (up to 25-50%)
