Full time positions are 7.75 hours per day for 182 days plus 3 TRI days. In addition, Librarians receive a supplemental contract for 10 extended days. JOB TITLE: TEACHER LIBRARIAN
JOB SUMMARY: Plan, prepare and deliver a quality information literacy program based upon state and district standards and learning needs of students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead information literacy instruction including evaluation and analysis of the credibility, relevance and currency of information.
Coach instructional staff in support of curriculum, information technology and information management.
Teach students to be critical consumers and producers of information.
Teach students and staff to use emerging learning technologies for school and lifelong learning.
Teach students to be safe, ethical and responsible digital citizens.
Establish and model a powerful, fashionable and ubiquitous culture of reading in the school community.
Motivate and guide students to read for enjoyment and understanding.
Develop a relevant collection of fiction and non-fiction in a variety of formats, ensuring quality reading choices for all students.
Manage resources in support of established curriculum and student passions.
Provide open and equitable access to resources, technology and information services for the entire school community.
Develop and administer inviting and effective physical and digital library environments.
Manage resources to support teaching and learning.
Administer information management systems to support student learning and school and district programs.
Communicate and collaborate with parents and school community for the purpose of fostering student success and achievement.
Foster and manage a safe, positive learning environment for the purpose of promoting effective student behavior and success.
Participate in various meetings for the purpose of implementing school and program initiatives and addressing student needs.
Implement and comply with District policies and the Code of Professional Conduct.
Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours specified under contract.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
