Job Responsibilities: Provide high-level administrative and professional support to the Ness School of Management and Economics. Responsibilities include assisting the director and associate director with program processes, accreditation reporting and data management, serving as the school liaison with college and university administration, alumni, donors and industry stakeholders, and academic support.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of:
- MS Office Products – Excel and PowerPoint are essential to this position
- Database development and maintenance
- Academic curriculum, courses, and forms
- Event and activity coordination
Skill & Ability to:
- Gather and present data in tabular and graphical format
- Effectively communicate information both in a written and verbal manner
- Use IT tools such as Banner, Student Banner, Box, DocuSign, Doodle, Zoom/GoToMeeting
- Display strong attention to detail
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, alumni, donors, and stakeholders
- Learn and interpret University policies and procedures
- Train and provide guidance to student workers

Department Description and Cultural Expectations
The Ness School of Management and Economics in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, offers Bachelor’s degrees with majors in Business Economics, Agricultural Business, Entrepreneurial Studies, Economics, and Economics with an Agricultural Economics specialization. The faculty of approximately 30 members teach and conduct research in Economics, Decision Sciences, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Finance, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurial Studies, and Law. The Ness School hosts about 750 undergraduate majors and 30 graduate students. A Master’s degree offers students two different paths: a traditional research-based theory track or a business and industry oriented non-thesis track. In conjunction with four extension field specialists many members of the faculty conduct extension and outreach programs in support of the state’s economy. Ness School graduates hold key leadership and management positions across the northern Great Plains and Midwest in banking, investment and venture capital firms, processing and manufacturing, energy and bioenergy, and food and agribusiness management, and are leaders among the innovation and entrepreneurship community.
