CUMULUS MEDIA | San Francisco is looking to hire an entry level Business Development Representative who is dynamic, forward-thinking, seeking to start a career opportunity in local media sales and has the keen ability and determination to understand the power of our audiences through various platforms: on-air, digital, mobile and events. The successful candidate will identify, qualify and prospect potential leads that will be directed to our Account Executive Team. Candidates must have the ability to use a variety of skills, talents and tools to secure face-to-face qualified sales calls, prioritize their day/work assignments, meet deadlines, and deal effectively with other departments. Professional training will be provided, including but not limited to, prospecting, cold calling, sales presentations, media knowledge as well as event and digital sales.

Primary responsibilities will be to research, prospect and develop advertiser and sponsor leads across all Cumulus stations and products, with primary focus on KNBR and play-by-play offerings (Giants and 49ers)
Creativity, strategic thinking, teamwork-orientation and knowledge of all available tools and databases are vital. This position will be at the top of the sales pipeline and will be an integral member of a team-approach to prospecting and closing new business
Individual will also be responsible for direct selling of NTR offerings (Fanfest, 49ers Preview Guide, Bridge to Bridge Race), as well as assistance in creating sales decks and collateral for sales team
Excel at prospecting and aggressively seeking new clientele by networking, cold calling, canvassing, referrals or other means to build and maintain a full pipeline of sales prospects
Stay abreast of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position Cumulus in the marketplace
Think creatively and generate original ideas
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, social networking platforms and CRM tools
Excellent communication skills
Strong understanding of lead generation and ability to connect with viable prospects
Positive attitude with the willingness to get beyond comfort zone to grow professionally
High energy and passion for the job
Flexible and creative
Self-starter/entrepreneurial mentality a plus
1-2 years sales experience preferred, but not required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred
