The primary purpose of this job is to provide oversight and support for the overall Commercial Loan operations in accordance with Federal regulation and Credit Union Policies, procedures, and standards. More specifically, this position will be responsible for day to day loan operations, oversight of the portfolio, documentation, and disbursements, of the commercial loan portfolio with the intent of providing excellent member service to internal and external stakeholders.
Pipeline Management
-
Perform assigned commercial loan operations functions ensuring all functions are completed accurately and within established guidelines and timeframes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the functions for the Credit Union’s Commercial Loan Operations designed to ensure documentation, and administration operate efficiently and effectively.

Work closely with Portfolio Manager to monitor loan pipeline and ensure all applications are progressing as expected.
Loan Closing

Ensure all legal documents are in proper order. Perform new loan set-up.
Member Service
-
Provide support to assist with resolution of operational issues that arise for business loans to drive operational efficiency and improve the member experience.

Consistently provide superior professional service to internal and external members.

Alert management to repeated issues in order to address issues before they result in a diminished level of service.

Assists Portfolio Manager and interacts with members and CUSO to obtain all necessary supporting documentation for complete and accurate loan application packages

Coordinates with CUSO, Portfolio Manager, members, and settlement agent to facilitate loan closings and ensure complete and accurate preparation of loan closing packages

Provides Portfolio Manager, CUSO and members with written correspondence pertaining to loan status, approval/denial, and outstanding conditions

Obtains appraisal quotes, engages appraiser, and completes appraisal review document.

Prepares completed loan files and conducts quality review on loan documentation.

Tracks and obtains all outstanding post-closing documentation

Monitors MBL loan review schedules and assists Portfolio Manager in obtaining all required documents and documenting reviews

Prepares MBL loan reviews for submission to Credit Committee

Maintains active communication with CUSO to ensure all origination and annual review deadlines are met

Manages commercial pipeline from origination through to settlement and funding.

Contacts applicants to request specified information for loan applications as needed. Orders credit reports and requests information pertinent to the evaluation of loan application.

Reviews commitment letters and approval documents for consistency and accuracy. Ensures that the appropriate approvals are in place given the characteristics of the transaction.

Supports the Portfolio Manager with the annual review on some relationships up to $750,000, separate from the larger concentration of borrowers.

Assist in the financial analysis of small loan requests working with the Portfolio Manager in the overall process of new loan requests.

Participates in preparing financial statement spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and opinions for renewing existing loans, including review for compliance, and generating credit rating

Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility to granting loan.

Offers sound opinions on loan to be sent to committee for approval as appropriate.

Reviews settlement statements, processes requests for wire transfers, advances, and payments.

Works with Loan Servicing to onboard new loans to host system after a review of the documentation received for funding has been made.

Determines whether to report loans as HMDA based on provided criteria. Inputs HMDA reporting data as required.

Assist in gathering information, performing research or other related administrative type tasks for commercial loan requests and for monitoring existing commercial lending relationships.

Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Adheres to and demonstrates the behaviors of the Credit Union’s core values; actively works to enhance the member experience throughout the Credit Union

High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 to 5 years’ related experience

Working knowledge of commercial and business lending practices and procedures strongly preferred

Good oral and written communication skills

Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail a must.

Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and regularly lifting up to 10 lbs.

Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.

Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.

Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
