The Director, Marketing is a key leadership role within the Public Affairs, Marketing, and Communications team. In this role you provide functional leadership over key business initiatives that drive KPWA to our awareness, growth and retention goals. A key deliverable would be developing the scope of work for team, sequencing the work, defining value proposition, setting program strategy and direction, and providing context & priorities for the team. Additionally you may be called on to provides oversight, coaching & guidance to management-level and junior staff. To be successful in this role you must be comfortable making final decisions on administrative and operational matters, including managing to budget and negotiating with peers to ensure that the most impactful work gets done. This role is an integral part of the overall Marketing function that oversees and leads major projects that inform the growth and market strategies essential to KP's revenue, membership and margin goals. We provide analytical/strategic-thinking and leadership skills that enable project teams to: 1) isolate business issues; 2) bring technical/content expertise (competitive intelligence, utilization, financial analysis, market research, deep data analysis & programming); 3) vet findings and make formal recommendations to senior levels of KP leadership; 4) review/approve strategic recommendations.
- Leadership & Metrics: Develops and supervises team, including the assessment of adequate capacity to serve evolving needs of the enterprise and accountability of our functional area. Manages the work output of others (e.g. project managers) through dotted line accountability to deliver on marketing initiatives. Drive budget, forecasting, strategic planning, and evaluation. Provides leadership across division in order to drive and deliver assessment, reporting of metrics and KPIs identifying impact of community and LOB events. Provides strategic oversight of vendor management, ensuring execution within funding guidelines and in achievement of identified metrics for success, including management of issues and opportunities which contribute or threaten the success of the event.
- Internal Alignment and Engagement: Partner with key colleagues and stakeholder groups within Marketing and across the organization (e.g. Community Health & Benefit, Sales and HR) to create strategy that drives engagement through a myriad of marketing disciplines. Brings an enterprise perspective and appropriately connects the team's work to key regional and enterprise goals and metrics (e.g. supporting diversity & inclusion initiatives through collaboration with the Staff Resource Groups, engagement of targeted accounts). Maximize marketing investments and relationships to ensure that our assets are leveraged across the organization
- Strategic Partnerships: Build partnerships with key internal and external stakeholder groups in order to leverage resources, maximize impact, and achieve Kaiser Permanente's growth and mission-based goals. Serves as the collaboration point between senior functional leadership and key internal business partners (e.g. Community Health & Benefit, Government Relations functions, responsible for cultivating and maintaining valuable external relationships through a seamless and collaborative internal approach. Leveraging our strategic partnerships, responsible for delivering value back to the organization through implementation of programs, events and thought leadership to elevate the awareness and regard of the KP brand. Strategic coordination required with executive-level leadership, as well as consistent and collaborative alignment with market-facing colleagues.
- Functional Leader: Regional SME over a marketing function (e.g. advertising, communications, marketing operations). Brings the organization along on important decisions to grow KPWA Serves as primary partner to Program Office counterparts to integrate Nationally led initiatives into regional strategy and offer regional best practices and successes to help inform approaches. Regional responsibility for designing, developing, implementing annual cadence of deliverables. Responsible for overseeing team in end to end planning and execution of growth, retention, and engagement programs
