Health and Safety Specialist
Responsible for providing support to the Divisional Directors, Regional Facilities Managers, RHVAC Supervisors, MST Supervisors and all Technicians. This position will provide leadership, support and coordination of the day to day safety requirements for field operations. This is a high travel position requiring at least 50% travel within the scope of the job.
The location for this position is flexible since it will be high travel to a group of stores within the area of responsibility.
The current territory encompasses all or part of NY and New England.

Health and Safety Specialist
Reports to: Director of Health and Safety

Develop a schedule to Provide support to the field operations by maintaining a visible presence in all assigned areas.
Assist in coaching, mentoring and implementation of the Health and Safety program in the field through awareness and safety training.
Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable standards, policies updates and the H&S manual that could impact the operation.
Complete scheduled audits of store locations and ensure compliance with current policies. Correct any deficiencies noted during audit by ensuring repairs and/or training is completed in a timely manner. Maintain audit reports and corrective action list.
Assist with completing Risk Assessments and further development of the programs.
Assist with identifying Health and Safety training opportunities in the field and assist with developing training material.
On a scheduled basis, meet with the field teams to present Health and Safety updates and planned training to all regions covered under your area.
Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported immediately. Assist the Regional Facilities Managers and Supervisors in completing all required forms. Assist with the investigation of incidents and accident to determine root cause, and corrective action where necessary.
Develop a safety committee in your division and schedule regular meeting to review issues, trends, incidents and accidents.
Conduct new hire safety training for all new technicians in your assigned area.
Liaise with Enforcement agencies as needed to support the field operations.
Any other duties as determined to contribute to the success of the Health and Safety Department.
Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, Certificate and/or
Minimum of 5 years Health and Safety field experience
Ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessments to company operations
Proficient is Microsoft office applications (Outlook / Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
Ability to communicate one on one and in large groups
Ability to travel throughout assigned area. Including overnight stays as needed.
