Alnylam was founded in 2002 on a revolutionary vision and bold mission which remain firmly in place today. We are leading the translation of RNA interference (RNAi) into a new class of innovative medicines with the potential to transform the lives of people with rare genetic, cardio-metabolic, hepatic infectious, and central nervous system diseases with unmet need. Our first medicine, the first-ever RNAi therapeutic, has recently been approved by the FDA in the US for the treatment of the polyneuropathy of hereditary transthyretin-mediated amyloidosis in adults and by the European Medicines Agency in the EU for the treatment of hATTR amyloidosis in adults with stage 1 or stage 2 polyneuropathy. Alnylam is committed to a vision of harnessing RNA interference for human health with the goal of developing and commercializing RNAi therapeutics for patients in need. The company is preparing for multiple commercial launches in rare and orphan diseases and is currently building its commercial capabilities.

The Associate Director Global G&A Systems is the global domain head for all General and Administrative (G&A) expertise areas. They are a leader in the field, with deep domain expertise, a passion for Life Sciences and the desire to bring innovative solutions to their business partners. The role will be responsible for leading, developing and driving the implementation of key solutions to the strategic challenges that are being faced by the Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology and Legal and Compliance expertise areas.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Act as a global thought-leader for innovation and technology as it relates to advancing the G&A business with new capabilities (e.g. processes, resources and technology)
Manage key relationship globally within the Expertise Area / functions to establish a customer focused service model
Draw upon business experience, business relations, and industry trends to enable streamlined global processes enabled by IT solutions
Design global strategies with key Expertise Area / functional leads to enable new key capabilities and expand existing capabilities to support a growing global footprint
Developing capability roadmaps plans for key capability builds (IT systems and associated process and organizational support) needed to achieve Alnylam and Expertise Area / Functional goals
Prioritize and oversee the execution of a portfolio of projects in the G&A space, including supporting HR, Finance, Legal and IT Expertise Areas.
Translate business requirements into viable solutions and projects to support prioritized needs
Coordinate with Alnylam Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) to ensure proper project definition, documentation, system diagrams and timely delivery and resourcing for projects.
Establish ongoing governance meeting to ensure clear communication about strategy, progress and overall risks and issues
BS/MS and seven or more years in IT leadership supporting G&A Expertise Areas / functions
seven or more years in life sciences
Ability to work in a matrix and outsourced heavy organization
Great listener with strong analytic thinking and problem solving
Domain expert who can educate about trends and best practices in the pharma / healthcare segments
Experience with vendor management and oversight
Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast paced, changing environment
Global strategic thinker able to visualize how new technologies can create new opportunities or evolve current models
Global solution oriented with a focus on business outcome and process first mentality

Required Experience/Systems Experience
Experience managing and implementing key G&A systems and / or new regulations including:
Finance transactional system (SAP)
Oracle HR (FUSION / Taleo)
Financial planning systems (Adaptive)
Workforce planning systems
Invoice Management (Concur)
Purchasing Processes (GEP)
Contract Management Systems (Novatus / Conga)
Time Tracking (e.g. Kronos)
Transparency reporting / Sunshine Act compliance
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Experience in developing a strategies and G&A capability roadmaps
Experience in process mapping and
Experience developing integrated IT project plans using Smartsheets
Experience managing a highly outsourced team
Experience in project management methods and tools (e.g. Box, IT SDLC, etc.)

System implementation experience
Experience using Smartsheets / similar tools to manage project plans
