Database Product Manager for Rapidly Growing Database Marketing Company

Exact Data is looking for a detail-oriented database product manager to join our Operations team. The Database Product Manager is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the consistency and quality of our Consumer and Business databases.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering monthly & quarterly updates of our installed databases for data resellers
  • Scheduling file deliveries, updates and replacements with data vendors
  • Improving overall deliverability by validating emails and removing opt-outs and invalid records from our two databases
  • Reporting monthly file usage to data vendors
  • Understanding and implementing data standards and ethics (CAN Spam Compliance, DMA Ethics and Responsibilities, Data Protection Act etc.)
  • Building workflow processes in Alteryx* to extract, transform and load files for clients and resellers (*Alteryx is a workflow tool we use to manipulate data. See here for more information: alteryx.com/alteryx-designer/data-blending)
  • Working closely with our CTO and programmers to improve front-end accuracy and accessibility of data for Client Services and Sales departments
  • Pricing and installing new email data for B2C and B2B databases
  • Documenting all database hygiene and maintenance procedures, back up plans and redundancies
  • Sourcing and selling new installs to data brokers and resellers

The Database Product Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in direct marketing, email marketing or related field
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from four-year college or university preferably with a degree in one of the following concentrations:
  • Computer Scienceor Software Engineering
  • Information Systems
  • Econometrics or Statistics
  • Excellent written and telephone communications skills
  • General understanding of database structure and relational theory
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Visual Basic for Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to complete multiple, complex technical projects with strict deadlines
  • Experience with Alteryx, SAS, SPSS, R or other statistical analytics tools is a plus
