NOTE: Position is “Remote/Work from Home”. Preferred home location is Austin TX area.
The purpose of this job is to lead the selling and manage the marketing execution for Natural/Organic Key Accounts so that Three Sisters (N/O Division of Post Consumer Brands) sales volume, profit, and ROIC goals are achieved. Key Account responsibility includes Whole Foods, Sprouts and Vitamin Cottage/Natural Grocers. Three Sisters portfolio represents the following major brands: Mom’s Best Cereal and Granola, Barbara’s Cereal and Snacks, Uncle Sam’s Cereal, Alpen Cereal and Weetabix Cereal.
Major Job Activities
Develop and grow the Key Account N/O business through the penetration and understanding of both the customer’s strategy and priorities, but also Three Sisters strategy and priorities. Creating a win/win plan for continued growth.
Strategically sell Three Sisters branded programs (Promotional Sales plans, New Items, Shopper Marketing programs, etc.) to the N/O key accounts, or modify/re-design programs to meet account requirements for permanent and temporary space. Proactively manage Trade planning calendar for accounts, including adjusting calendar to meet account merchandising and timing requirements.
Work closely with Team business partners to strategically develop and accelerate the growth of the Three Sisters portfolio at key accounts. This includes but not limited to Marketing, Category Management, Sales Support and the Three Sisters Team Distributor Manager. Work with the Team Distributor Manager to align on forecasting, planning, distribution, in stocks and deductions.
Expected to influence the organization on Key Account growth opportunities and initiatives. Lead the education, conversation and resource needs of the N/O Key Accounts by hosting informational 101’s to cross-functional business partners within the Three Sisters Department and broader PCB organization.
Work collaboratively with our Three Sisters N/O Private Label Team on the corresponding accounts. Leveraging relationships and the power of one strategy.
Maintain accurate, key account files to rapidly address issues and problems as they arise.
Education: 4-year college degree
Experience: Minimum 3-5+ years of experience calling on Whole Foods.
Skills: Strong selling skills; effective interpersonal skills to build and maintain work relationships; effective in spoken and written communications, including ability to prepare & present complex computer sales presentations; ability to identify and solve complex customer problems; self-management skills (set own priorities, plan/organize work, time management, follow through discipline, product results), and creative ability to generate ideas/concepts to increase sales, comfort around higher management.
Individual must be able to analyze and in interpret Nielsen/SPINS reports generated by their Category Management Manager and draw conclusions from the data and make fact based decisions that benefit both Category & Post Consumer Brands.
Must have trade management within a live accrual experience and has worked in proprietary sales forecasting and budget tracking systems. Experience with Accenture’s CAS product is preferred.
Travel: 30% to 40%
Internal: Manages work amongst Post Consumer Brands departments, including Accounting, Credit, Sales Support and Development, Customer Solutions, Marketing, Business and Trade Solutions, Supply Chain and Logistics (transportation, warehousing).
External: Direct selling responsibility for accounts.
Problem Solving: 1)Must continually adjust Post Consumer Brands general trade plans and programs to meet the specific financial requirements; 2)Follow up on all sales and marketing activity (from initial marketing plans to customer issues) to resolve complex issues and problems in a timely manner.
Analytical: Use of Nielsen and SPINs to draw conclusions and make fact-based decisions.
Communications: Lead internal conversation with Leadership and Cross Functional departments regarding business development growth resources.
