Administer the student information system and manage data analysis and integrity, reporting, and select compliance functions for the University of Wyoming’s GEAR UP Wyoming grant, a federally-funded program designed to increase college readiness and enrollment rates among low-income middle and high school students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Undertake administrative oversight of the student information system including delivering training on multiple aspects of system use.
Manage system vendor relations and responsibilities.
Design, implement and assess processes related to maintaining the integrity of data entered by multiple staff and partners and design and conduct internal audit processes statewide.
Retrieve and organize large public data sets that address assessment of the educational needs of the students served, academic outcomes, longitudinal trends, grant writing tasks, and other needs as they arise.
Extract, analyze, and prepare data for annual federal reporting and ongoing reporting needs in multiple presentation modes.
Engage in professional development and maintain current knowledge of research related to best practices. Maintain a working knowledge of federal legislation and regulations governing GEAR UP programs.
Collaborate to support grant-provided student development and teacher training activities.
Act as the liaison to the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) to request data, import data and use data to support collaborative statewide initiatives that impact low-income students.
Write and maintain staff resources related to these duties.
Work largely autonomously to manage ongoing deadlines and produce quality work.
Maintain knowledge of Wyoming school systems and post-secondary institutions sufficient to support the high school-to-college pipeline.
Assist the Grant Mgr with regular administrative duties and undertake special projects as a support or lead staff member.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 1 year work-related experience to include working with data sets and systems
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Official Vehicle Policy found at: https://www.uwyo.edu/risk/_files/docs/offical-vehicle-policy.pdf.
Ability to pass a criminal background check appropriate to working with minors.
Strong attention to detail and capacity to remain organized while managing multiple projects.
Experience working under federal or similar grant requirements.
Experience working with websites and social media.
High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Access databases.
Experience managing audit processes for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Experience using databases including aggregating and reporting data to inform decision-making.
Experience in technical writing and the ability to write, edit, and organize information for presentation at a professional level.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Ability to make effective decisions and think independently
