POSITION OVERVIEW

Consumer Direct Care Network is seeking a dynamic, experienced and engaging leader to fill the position of Human Resources Director in our Olympia, Washington location. The Human Resources Director is responsible for handling the human resources function of the company and in such capacity serves as a senior consultant to top management on all matters concerning human resources management. Additionally, the Human Resources Director provides staff assistance to supervisors in developing, communicating and carrying out the organization's personnel policies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Annually review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance
  • Maintain responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters
  • Communicate changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensure that proper compliance is followed
  • Assist executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program
  • Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters
  • Work directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
  • Recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for the organization
  • Supervise the staff of the human resource department
  • Participate on committees and special projects and seek additional responsibilities
  • Engage in strategic and goal planning processes in order to align HR strategies with the achievement of successful business outcomes
  • Drive the implementation of small as well as large-scale HR strategies and objectives
  • Consult with leaders and guide decision-making in key areas such as succession planning, performance management, coaching, organizational design, data analysis, associate engagement, total rewards and learning/development
  • Facilitate the implementation of change management initiatives and partners with business leaders to effectively communicate strategies, goals, values and performance expectations to leaders and associates
  • Understand current staffing gaps as well as future needs and effectively partner with business leaders and recruitment team to proactively address them
  • Engage with the recruitment team to assist with the development of programs that achieve specific development objectives for associates and leaders
  • Always deliver best-in-class customer service to employees, with an emphasis on being responsive, professional, and accurate
  • Consult and assist on employee relations issues including performance appraisals; coaching, training, and counseling employees; preparing proper documentation of employment actions; and taking appropriate corrective action in accordance with company policies and procedure
  • Advise regarding proper terminations, represent the company as needed in unemployment hearings, and conduct company/client investigations
  • Partner with leadership and operations to design and implement strategy and programs integrating development and training initiatives across the company
  • Effectively implement and administrates compensation and benefits programs
  • Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, handbooks, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values
  • Stay current on changes to employment laws and applicable payroll, employee benefit, and human resource policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrated progressive HR experience, leading to a senior HR role with oversight of multiple HR functions
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience required
  • Broad knowledge of human resource field, state and federal laws and regulations regarding employment, wage and hour, leaves, union negotiations, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
  • HR certification required (SHRM-SCP or equivalent)
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Operate with a high degree of confidentiality and interpersonal interaction
  • Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to lead in an environment of constant change with a strong set of ethics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to investigate and problem solve with solid conflict management skills
  • Ability to manage and analyze multiple priorities and activities and organize and plan for long and short-term projects
  • Demonstrated ability to "see the big picture" and provide useful and strategic advice and input across the company and to the senior executive team
  • Ability to work in a labor/management partnership environment
  • Recruitment and hiring practice expertise
  • Proficient at MS Office with intermediate/advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. PC proficiency and ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Payroll experience preferred
  • Labor relations experience preferred
  • Multi-state and multi-location experience preferred
  • Adept at handling multiple competing priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships within the HR department as well as across the organization
