THIS IS A CRITICAL POSITION. During the current health crisis, any job interviews will be held by video or audio conference.

Human Resources Aides perform paraprofessional, technical and specialized administrative work in one or more functional areas of human resources, including recruiting and selection, employee development, human resources records, drug and alcohol testing programs, employee leave and industrial programs, and other human resources-related functions. Duties include reading, interpreting, and explaining HR-related policies and procedures; processing payroll and personnel transactions; performing routine research and producing written reports, emails and other correspondence; and completing forms and maintaining electronic records. Human Resources Aides in the operating departments, in addition to assisting with human resources-related functions, may supervise staff that processes payroll and personnel transactions.
There are currently 2 vacancies in the Police Department. This job classification exists in 12 departments across the City.
This recruitment and any interview process as a result of this recruitment may be used by multiple hiring managers and multiple departments throughout the City to fill any related current or future vacancies; other recruitments and appropriate eligible lists may also be considered.
SALARY - Pay and benefits will vary depending on department and assignment:
$18.17 (minimum) - $26.12 (maximum) hourly / $37,794 - $56,243 annually. (Police Department) OR
$17.22 (minimum) - $26.12 (maximum) hourly / $35,818 - $54,330 annually.
Candidates may be hired above the minimum depending upon qualifications.

One year of experience at a customer service counter or as a human resources clerk.
Two years of college majoring in human resources management, public administration, industrial relations, psychology, or other related field.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
Experience providing high levels of customer service in person, over the phone, and using email.
Experience processing and maintaining, personnel transactions.
