Academic Vascular Surgeon
Division of Vascular Surgery
UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, is seeking a fellowship-trained BE/BC Academic Vascular Surgeon with excellent open surgical and endovascular skills and an interest in clinical research. In addition to a large and varied clinical practice, the Division has an approved five-year integrated vascular residency with two spots per year, an active endovascular program, and a new state of the art bench research facility. The faculty member would have access to an advanced clinical research group. As part of the UMass Heart and Vascular Center of Excellence, vascular surgery has new operating rooms including a new hybrid endovascular room, and a new fully integrated inpatient facility that includes a new ICU and step-down unit.
The division has a large and diverse clinical practice, performing more than 3500 open and endovascular procedures annually. These procedures are performed in a newly constructed state of the art hybrid operating room and a dedicated catheterization lab. The division functions as a high performing team with several distinguishing clinical programs including a complex aortic center which offers the most advanced endovascular options for complex aortic aneurysms. In addition, the division maintains a limb preservation center. The divisions’ in-patient and out-patient facilities include new fully integrated facilities within the UMass Heart and Vascular Center of Excellence. We offer a competitive salary as well as a productivity-based incentive program. Start-up funds and a research infrastructure are available to support research endeavors.
