Miller Industries, LLC is a family owned and operated company, located in Fenton, Michigan and was formed in July 2014. We are the parent company to Performance Fabricating, Flex Air, Miller Industries Representatives, and Farm Pod, all located under the roof of our 106,000 sq. foot building. We specialize in custom steel fabrication, conveyor fabrication, robotic welding and plasma cutting, air supply systems and sales, representing numerous companies in HVAC applications. Our products consist of conveyor systems, structural steel projects, stairs and platforms, baggage handling systems, air handling systems and powder-coated metal products. We provide our high-quality products to automotive, healthcare, data center, and industrial customers around the world. Our products are proudly made in the USA.Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water fixtures and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and production and processing systems.

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager at our location in Fenton, MI.

Summary: The Engineering Manager position oversees the design and process of HVAC systems, conveyors and related equipment; ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together. Leads, directs and checks the work of assigned manufacturing engineers and project engineers.

Responsibilities for the position are as follows:
Analyze and design HVAC systems, conveyors, and miscellaneous structural steel components
Check design and drawings for accuracy and compliance to company / industry standards.
Support detailed analysis of designs to understand and document manufacturing problems.
Investigate and improve product design issues.
Research and evaluate purchased mechanical systems, products and components
Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times.
Oversee implementing best practices for efficient assembly and high quality product delivery.
Ensure vendors / subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications.
Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the engineering process.
Able to assist in reducing cost through re-engineering product/material.
Support of project management and project schedule coordination

Requirements for the position are as follows:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a design and drafting environment developing mechanical products is required.
Must have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting models, assembly and piece part drawings.
Manufacturing floor knowledge within the mechanical, HVAC and structural industries.
Knowledge of welding
Knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCad, Inventor, Microsoft Office
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Capable of performing tasks and duties with limited supervision
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of Tool Room Management, Piping and Industrial Manufacturing desired.
