Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms and controllers in an embedded-C environment for energy and power management features and applications for our commercial and customer fleet.

Define the software architecture, create design requirements and implementation specifications while working with multiple stakeholders for a robust and efficient low voltage system.

Work with cross-functional teams to define, develop and integrate vehicle-wide functions.

Write embedded test code for testing all software components in an ECU (Electronic Control Units), from HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) all the way up to the application, using unit, SIL, and physical HIL tests.

Create scalable architectures and designs keeping in mind Functional Safety and running DFMEAs.

Lead technical meetings with team members and management to review system design, software architecture, and feature performance.

Guide teams with their test plans and experiments to achieve design & validation goals.

Participate in code reviews during development sprints. Provide technical feedback to drive quality design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering.

6+ years’ experience in embedded programming in C or C++
-
Proficient in test driven development with developer driven coverage from different test targets (HIL/SIL/Unit).

5+ years' experience developing controllers to manage the low voltage system components such as a DCDC, eFuses, battery.

5+ years' experience developing algorithms using inputs from a battery and related voltage, current and temperature sensors.

Experience working with model based control validation and simulation in the loop.

Experience working with advanced 32-bit multi-core microcontrollers.
-
Experience working with CAN, LIN, UDS, DoIP communication interfaces.
-
Experience working in a Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) environment.

Strong interpersonal skills.
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $171,100 - $213,900 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust supplementary medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance employees, their source or domestic partner, and children. Coverage is effective on the first da of employment, and Rivian covers all of the premiums.
