Job Summary:
The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for the execution of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for all production assets. Additional responsibilities include the improvement of existing equipment and the commissioning of new equipment. The Plant Maintenance Technician will report to the Engineering Department and provide valuable feedback on the health of the plant and its equipment.
The Plant Maintenance Technician will act as a “first-responder” to any issues that arise on the manufacturing lines and will effectively communicate with both the Engineering Department and the Line Lead to troubleshoot and repair the equipment in an efficient and effective manner using their knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pump, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
The Plant Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for the organization, tracking, and maintenance of tools within the Maintenance Area. The Plant Maintenance Technician will receive, organize, and digitally check in/out spare parts, hardware, electronic equipment, etc. using company practices. Standard housekeeping operations are required daily for the Maintenance Area, including the returning of any tool, part, hardware, etc. to its place, cleaning spills, sweeping, and clearing trash. A culture of cleanliness is required from the Plant Maintenance Technician to set up the next person’s shift for success and encourage a teamwork mentality.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Act as a “first-responder” to any issues that arise on the manufacturing lines.
· Work alongside and receive information from production team to solve issues as they arise.
· Provide technical and hands on support during manufacturing line shutdowns.
· Investigate equipment failures, determine root cause, execute repair process, and communicate solutions to reduce reoccurrence of/or eliminate cause of failure.
· Work from and maintain company digital work order system.
· Write and submit repair procedures and lessons learned to the Engineering Department.
· Work with the Engineering Department to develop, implement, and execute a preventative/predictive maintenance schedule to minimize unplanned equipment shutdowns.
· Plan and perform routine inspections on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Maintain/improve plant mechanical systems to withstand production loads.
· Maintain/improve plant electrical systems to meet or exceed the needs of production and meet or exceed required legal standards.
· Maintain/improve plant water pump systems to ensure solutions are reliable and robust for the needs of production.
· Maintain/improve plant hydraulic systems and/or contract third party repair or replacement.
· Maintain/improve plant pneumatic systems to meet or exceed the needs of production and maintenance.
· Activate Lockout/Tagout when necessary.
· Perform work at height.
· Actively demonstrate a safety and quality mindset during the performance of all work.
· Other duties, as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and specifications.
· Ability to trace and diagnose common mechanical, electrical, pump, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in the absence of formal documentation.
· Ability to maintain technical focus and professional composure in dynamic, time-sensitive environments.
· Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
· Ability to read, fabricate, and assemble designs based upon engineering drawings preferred.
· Metal fabrication skills are preferred.
· Carpentry skills are preferred.
· Welding skills (MIG - Steel, TIG – Steel/Aluminum) are preferred.
· Ability to operate a forklift.
· Ability to work in a team environment with regular and predictable attendance.
· Ability to comply with company safety and environmental policies.
Education and Experience:
· Proven experience (5+ years) as an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Technician in an industrial facility.
· Working experience of 120V, 240V, 480V, 3 phase power electrical systems.
· Working experience operating, replacing, and wiring logic controllers, motor starters, variable frequency drives, etc.
· Fabrication experience with aluminum and steel preferred.
· Carpentry experience with load-bearing structures preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Travel Requirements:
· Travel not required; subject to change to short-term assignments based on industry demand.
Time Requirements:
· 12-hour shift, Monday – Friday, 6 am – 6 pm OR 6 pm – 6 am
· Overtime required as needed, including weekends.
