Job Description:Position Summary:
As the VP of Sales you will be responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth of our Indirect to Consumer (ITC) business through the addition of new partnerships and improving on levels of repeat engagement of our current customer base.
The VP of Sales has a firm understanding of market and industry dynamics, including POS and online retail channels, and is responsible for maintaining relationships with other industry leaders and business professionals who are directly related to the relevant markets and channels.
The VP of Sales will work with the Chief Commercial Officer on budgets and costs for the ITC business function. This position will work with cross channels of leadership to develop, execute and evaluate sales promotion plans, utilization of market development funds and merchandising ideas for a premium positioned brand, while ensuring execution, review and tracking of all plans and programs.
The VP of Sales will be expected to hire, train and develop talent to support needs of the sales and business development teams. Identify and support the development of high-potential employees to prepare them for positions of greater responsibility in support of applicable functions.
Develops annual sales plan and forecast in support of organization strategy and objectives
Directs implementation and execution of sales plans, policies, and practices.
Works with Marketing to ensure communications are coordinated and supports sales plan objectives while meeting organizational expenditure requirements.
Positive and energetic leader with a strong sense of urgency to create a sustainable winning culture.
Sales and business development leadership skills and expertise to define and sell business growth impact strategies and initiatives to current and potential customers,
Mix of traditional consumer packaged goods experience coupled with entrepreneurial spirit for growing a family-owned business.
Hands-on leader willing to roll-up-sleeves.
Proven track record of delivering planned objectives, penetrating senior levels of customer organizations
Strong leader with demonstrated success in leading cross-functional business initiatives.
Highly developed influencing, negotiation, and collaboration-building skills.
Proven success of problem solving and priority setting, interpreting data to identify problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to create a successful business plan.
Hands-on knowledge of sales planning, implementation and experience in multiple channels of distribution Online sales experience a plus.
Believes in a team-centric approach and combines this approach with the pursuit for a solution to deliver P&L.
Ability to hold each leader accountable for specific plans and coaches each team member to drive talent throughout the organization.
Strong record of hiring, managing and promoting top performers.
Identify and keep the organization abreast of industry sales trends and standards to allow Tervis to be a competitive premium brand.
Accomplished sales person with 10+ years in consumer goods industry.
Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred.
Strong proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
Must present a neat, professional appearance
Ability to interact with all employee levels, including senior management
Strong time management and organizational skills resulting in efficient completion of all assigned tasks
Polished written and spoken communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Works in an open, office environment
Ability to travel up to 50% of time
Ability and willingness to work outside normal business hours when needed
