Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Field Service Technician to join our team in Ft Rucker, AL.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The CSEL Field Service Technician will support the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) SEC Field Support Directorate in providing Hardware and Software Field Support to the Joint Service Warfighter worldwide for Garrison, exercise/training support, combat operations, and contingency operations, which consists of providing support to approximately 40,000 CSEL systems fielded worldwide throughout the Army and Air Force Active Component (AC), Reserve Component (RC), and National Guard. This position is located in and supporting the FSD, CONUS East, West, Pacific, OCONUS Europe, Far East, and SWA locations, and requires that the FST have direct system experience with CSEL – Combat Survivor Evader system (HHR, CPE, and CDRS Web Server Application virtual work station, formerly known as Block 1B). This position requires a unique knowledge of various types of networks and network configurations to interoperate with joint and national agency personnel recovery systems to support unit and unit annual & pre-mobilization situational training exercises such as aircrew and system loader/maintainer demonstrations, validations, and Personnel Recovery lanes, incorporating the CSEL radio and system architecture.
General Responsibilities :
The successful candidate must have direct system experience with CSEL – Combat Survivor Evader Locator and be available to work from CONUS & OCONUS locations, having specific experience with systems and system operations within the specific functional area to which assigned, and available for assignment to various CONUS/OCONUS sites for extended periods.
Perform analysis of system operations and have knowledge/experience in the utilization of operating systems and database management systems and experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of computer systems and individual peripheral devices.
Conduct routine system maintenance and administrative system functions as detailed in the job description.
Ability to satisfy the standards of fitness for deployment to the most-demanding region of the world for which CSEL provides field support personnel (standards of fitness include: general physical, mental, and dental health standards, medication requirements, and body mass index (BMI) calculations).
Support Army and Joint exercises for operation training at CONUS and OCONUS locations with field software engineering over the shoulder training, formal classroom training to groups, user training, providing on-site diagnostic and corrective actions, and capturing and reporting requirements.
Provide telephonic technical support to assist in resolving user problems.
Advises units in the development of TTPs and SOPs unique to that unit for Personnel Recovery Support Coordination and CSEL operations during both peacetime Search and Rescue and Combat Search and Rescue operations. CSEL FSTs also provide over-the-shoulder demonstrations and advanced troubleshooting (Tier 1 & 2). Additionally, part of the FST’s duties include providing joint service CDRS work station support, generating and submitting various reports (Activity, Travel, Trip, and Incident), in order to ensure that the government customer is kept informed of all activities and events.

Provide technical Over the Shoulder Technical Assistance (OSTA) to CSEL users on joint CSEL system fundamentals, CSEL tools, system management, and interfaces. CSEL FST applies software updates and upgrades in order to maintain system configurations that are in compliance to Defense Information System Agency (DISA) security standards. CSEL FST ensures effective coordination between Army and Air Force systems in functional areas of multiple mission threads, such as scheduling, deconfliction/collaboration, and digital information exchange between Rescue Coordination Centers.
Must be capable of performing analysis of system operations.
Must have knowledge of and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components.
Capable of writing reports using MS Office products.
Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components.
Must be capable of routine system maintenance and analysis functions including: hardware configurations; adding, removing and replacing hardware components; use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools; reading of electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards.
High School Diploma with at least 3 years experience
Your ability to meet all requirements and conditions to fulfill and maintain deployment status.
Your ability to travel and accept temporary assignments at other locations (CONUS and/or OCONUS)
Certification(s): CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification
Military Aviation rating, Special Operations, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape (SERE), Instructor certification, Tactical Operations/Aviation Mission Survivability Officer, Personnel Recovery Officer/NCO, Aviation Life Support qualified (USAF and USN equivalent), and completion of a U.S. Military Service Officer Basic or Advanced Course and/or Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) or Senior NCO Academy Course
Security Clearance Requirements: Secret
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
