Thanks for your interest in becoming a host for Cartoon Conspiracy. We’ve been theorizing, debunking, and downright obsessing over conspiracies for almost 5 years with our Channel Frederator family.
Cartoon Conspiracy Hosts not only have a vibrant, personable on-camera presence, but they are also great at taking a theory and breaking it down into a compelling argument. This means writing scripts that introduce an idea, provide evidence, and analyze details. Strong writing skills are a must.
As part of your audition to become a host for Cartoon Conspiracy, we’d like for you to pitch an original conspiracy. You should write a short script that includes the following information:
-Self-introduction: who you are and why you want to be a CC Host.
-The Conspiracy: What’s the idea you’re pitching and where does it come from?
-Evidence: Why should we cover this theory, what backs it up, what are the counterpoints.
-How does it hold up: How would you rate this conspiracy? How accurate, realistic, believable is it?
The script should be about 500 words (your intro doesn’t need to be included in this count). After completing the script, please film yourself on-screen performing it. On video this will probably be about 3 minutes. Hosts with basic video editing skills are preferred, so this is your chance to show off that as well. Please note that this is an audition and will be uncompensated.
The most important part of this process is that we see your ability to have fun on-camera, writing skills, and knowledge of cartoons. New York-based hosts are preferred; if you are outside of New York, you must have your own camera equipment and green screen.
All inquiries, scripts, and final videos should be emailed to frederatorconspiracy at gmail.com. Compensation for script and footage is $200, with opportunities to earn more if you can edit. Due to the volume of submissions, we may not be able to respond to your application. No calls.
