Radiation Protection Health Physicist
Brattleboro, VT

As the Radiation Protection Health Physicist for Rolls-Royce, you will be responsible for assessing radiological conditions and controlling work within radiation control areas in accordance with established regulations and standards.

Safety-critical systems have been supplied to around 50% of the global nuclear power plants in service and we’ve been a key player in the nuclear industry for more than 50 years.

Key Accountabilities:
Routine contamination surveys for removable and total contamination
External radiation surveys
Calibration of contamination detection instrumentation and air sampling equipment
Surveys for release of items and equipment from radiological controlled areas.
Planning work in radiological controlled areas
Air sampling and operation of air monitoring equipment.
Calculation of air sampling results and reporting abnormal conditions including performing appropriate immediate and follow-up actions
Use of engineering controls such as localized ventilation, temporary shielding, contamination barriers
Writing and administering radiation work permits

Basic Requirements:
Associates degree with 8+ years of experience with radiation protection within a nuclear power plant environment OR
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience with radiation protection within a nuclear power plant environment experience OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of experience with radiation protection within a nuclear power plant environment experience
ANSI 3.1 qualified radiation protection technician
In Lieu of 12+ experience with radiation protection within a nuclear power plant environment

Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Performing shipping surveys, Radioactive material receipts and Performing radioactive shipments
Strong understanding NRC radioactive materials license compliance
