Junior Sales Engineer- Amazon Web Services

DLT is looking for an experienced and motivated technologist with a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. As our Junior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for partnering with our customers, our vendor partner (Amazon Web Services), and the teams within DLT. As an experienced technologist, you will be able to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and adoption of cloud technology within the public sector. The ability to understand customer missions and requirements and map those requirements to technology is a critical facet of this position.

In partnership with our sales team, formulate and execute on the technical component of the sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Cloud Computing domain
Educate our public sector customers and DLT team members on the value proposition of AWS
Collaborate with customers to understand their mission, security and current computing environment
Design cloud solutions from customer information
Produce Cloud Architectures and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Map technical and business value to longer term goals or projects within the customer's business model
Build deep relationships with customer technologists, so they can understand, position, and adopt AWS services
Establish strong relations with your AWS technical peers
Evangelize AWS technologies through articles, papers, blogs, presentations and other forms of media
Demonstrate AWS technologies through presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts, and briefings
Maintain technical and functional relevance through continuous learning (training) and participation in partner events and industry days
Capture and share knowledge across the wider DLT Engineering community
Support AWS Sales team and pre-sales/engineering teammates with written responses to Proposals
Support Cloud solutions sales team by attending customer sales calls when necessary

Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of technical design/implementation/consulting/operations experience
2+ years defining/collecting requirements and designing technical solutions
2+ years of technical experience with information/data management related products (AWS or other)
2+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems
2+ years of experience with virtualization technologies (Xen, KVM, VMware, or HyperV)
Familiarity with AWS’ offerings
Familiarity with data and cloud processes, procedures, and design patterns

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage obstacles
Strong written communication skills
Strong analytical skills (i.e. requirements capture)
Positive presence, credibility and enthusiasm with the ability to influence customers
Ability to take complex technical topics and explain them to non-technical audiences
AWS Certification (Associate or Professional)
Expertise with one or more AWS services
Familiarity with SQL databases (any flavor)
History of successful technical consulting, development, or operations in heterogeneous computing environments (i.e. UNIX, Linux, and Windows) to include hands on experience developing and implementing cloud solutions and procedures in large scale, enterprise environments
Expertise in federal cloud computing requirements and proven ability to interpret federal laws and regulations that govern IT programs in the federal space
Familiarity with public sector governance and compliance standards (RMF, FISMA, C&A/A&A, DIACAP, FedRAMP, CJIS, HIPAA, FERPA, ITAR, FIPS, etc.)
Experience designing policies and procedures for highly elastic environments
Examples of presentations, public speaking, and/or written artifacts
Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on Amazon Web Services
Public Sector industry experience
CompTIA Cloud+, Vendor certifications or other IT related certifications
