Job Responsibilities Under limited supervision the Human Services Coordinator I will plan, implement, develop, and coordinate comprehensive social service programs and supervise Human Service Specialists in the provisions of agency assistance programs.

Plan and implement the knowledge and skills development of staff through individual and group conferences.

Determine and prioritize training needs for staff and program area.

Plan and implement the knowledge and skills development of staff through individual and group conferences.

Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of various reports and other information.

Coordinate workloads and responsibilities to staff.

Plan and implement goals and objectives for area of responsibility.

Ensure uniform interpretation, application and implementation of policies, rules, and regulations by staff.

Attend meetings and coordinate with various public and private organizations in promoting the effectiveness of program goals.

Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor's Degree in social work, social welfare or behavioral science and one (1) year of professional experience in human services or social service programs.

A Bachelor's Degree in any other field and two (2) years of professional experience in human services or social service programs.

A Master's Degree in Social Work, Social Welfare or Behavioral Science.

A Master's Degree in any other field and one (1) year of professional experience in human services or social service programs.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by the Division of State Human Resources

Selected positions may prefer supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of social service programs and social work delivery. Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws, rules and regulations pertaining to social services. Extensive knowledge of agency policies and procedures. Ability to supervise individuals in the performance of routine and complex tasks relative to the delivery of social services. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle, access client's homes, access filing cabinets and open shelf filing systems, must be able to travel within the state for the purpose of training to include overnight travel. Basic keyboarding/computer skills also required.
