Full Job Description
This position will primarily focus on scheduling and chart prep.
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of designated provider. Interviews patients, obtains and records patient information into patients' electronic medical record, and measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height). May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. May be required to obtain EKG tracings when ordered by attending providers. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Completes competencies as outlined by assigned department. Performs other related duties as assigned. Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned. Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent education/experience required.
3. Passage of CMA examination given by AAMA, NHA or NCCT required.
4. BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or Kootenai Health BLS within 60 days of hire.

Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
Kootenai Health Clinic locations have operation hours based on locations and patient needs therefore availability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as appropriate for location will be expected and required.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
