Candidate will be the primary financial analyst on a team working to translate our risk and claims experience into actionable analysis that enables us to improve QDI’s profitability, risk, and operational profiles, as well as being responsible for management of financial data within our Origami claims management system or any successor systems. This role supports the formulation and execution of the Company’s growth strategy, including extensive financial modeling and analysis, as well as preparing Board presentations. This position interfaces with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit operational teams.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and report on claims spend to identify cost drivers and trends on, as well as in response to ad hoc requests. Also includes preparation of presentations for executive team.
Working with the accounting group be a primary driver of the collection and analysis of claims and insurance premium data for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting obligations.
Work with third party actuaries on reported claims analysis, including IBNR, and perform critical analysis of the reports of those actuaries
Work with divisional CFOs to develop reporting to bridge budget to actual expense as it relates claims and workers compensation activity
Assist in development and implementation of insurance policy renewal strategies
Serve as project team member for a variety of ad-hoc strategic projects and initiatives

Minimum Qualifications/Education Level: (Required):
Bachelor's Degree and Master’s Degree (preferred) with focus on financial analysis, actuarial analysis, statistical analysis, or equivalent
2-4 years of post-graduate experience as a financial analyst, preferably in the insurance industry.
Actuarial analyst certification preferred

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience/Familiarity with the transportation industry is a plus, but not required
Experience/Familiarity with risk management information systems is a plus, but not required
Strong analytics, financial modeling skills
Familiarity with working in or with large organizations
Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
Must have strong Excel skills
Must be able to interact with all levels of management and the board
Must be an excellent team player that possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills and a willingness to learn
