THIS IS A CAREER SERVICE POSITION.

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children age 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM - As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in State government is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
No applicant for a designated position will be employed or permitted to volunteer until the Level 2 screening results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Agency.
Level 2 background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for Statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

***DUTIES:
Employees of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities are required to demonstrate total commitment to outstanding customer service. This includes, but is not limited to, always acting in a responsive, professional, courteous manner with the employees, customers and public we serve at all times.

This is a professional position responsible for independently performing a variety of activities related to quality assurance, improvement and enhancement of provider service delivery practices, training and education, customer service, investigations and processing of recoupment, and networking, communicating and collaborating with others while upholding HIPAA requirements. The incumbent's duties include, but not limited to, the following:

Tracks and reviews all Quality Improvement Organization (QIO - Delmarva) provider monitoring reports, addresses all findings through technical assistance/remediation, follows-up through resolution. Requests Plan of Remediation (POR) and obtains documented evidence of provider corrections to 100% of the review findings.

Reviews, investigates, addresses, and documents/tracks all types of Alerts within 24 hours of receipt. Follows Agency’s rules and regulations toward resolution and full implementation of corrections/improvements.

Requests provider records and conducts audits, as needed. Writes findings summary with recommendations and identifies recoupment and performance patterns/trends. Addresses findings with provider through technical assistance/remediation.

Conduct, coordinate, and track annual (unannounced) audits of Supported Living Coaching providers per 65G-5.

Tracks, investigates, addresses, and documents all service delivery grievances/complaints, suspicions of misuse of funds, fraud, programmatic violations, incident reports, protective services investigations, and follows-up through to resolution.

Identifies, calculates, and processes recoupment payments resulting from provider reviews/audits. Ensures completion of a Plan of Remediation and obtains documented evidence of provider corrections and improvements.

Completes written recommendations on provider status for the State Office – Termination Review Committee, as outlined in Agency rules and regulations.

Makes and tracks referrals to Medicaid Program Integrity at Agency for Health Care Administration, and to the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit from the Office of the Attorney General as needed and conducts referral follow-up.

Conducts and participates in meetings, conference calls, training, workshops/workgroups, and other miscellaneous activities as needed. This includes QIO - Delmarva quarterly meetings, Regional quarterly provider meetings, etc.

Works on special projects and other assignments through to completion and meeting deadlines; performs other duties as assigned.
