Currently, we are seeking a full-time Senior Financial Analyst position in our corporate office in Panama City, Florida.

About the Position

This is a contract billing analyst role with an accounting dimension in support of government projects primarily focused on generating accurate and timely billings and contributing to the accounting and financial reporting requirements of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential job functions for this position include:

  • Appropriate set-up of new contracts in Deltek Cost Point ERP software. Verify compliance with recognition of revenue, contract interface, line item and acronym interface and general set-up.
  • Responsible for generating complex government billings for T&M, Firm Fixed Price, Cost Plus contracts, as well as Progress and Milestone payments.
  • Compare actual contract expenses against contract funding for accuracy (period of performance, funding, billing rates).
  • Online invoice submission of electronic invoices into Wide Area Work Flow (WWAF) software.
  • Assist Program Managers with the review of contract expenditures and program reports.
  • Responsible for performing detailed revenue and un-billed analysis monthly
  • Analyze our general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts and make any necessary corrections via monthly journal entries
  • Maintain our accounting system and initiate the closing of our monthly accounting periods.
  • Generate annual Incurred Cost Report to insure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Compile, analyze and maintain historical data for internal and external auditors including DCMA, DCAA and IRS

Competencies

Required skills and abilities to effectively perform this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to interpret and analyze government contracts including T&M, Cost Plus, and FFP billing
  • Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Prioritization and Time Management
  • FAR and US GAAP knowledge

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and three to five years of relevant experience in government contracting and a CPA is preferred
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations

Required specialized experience or knowledge

Gov Contracting and Billing using Costpoint and US government's WAWF software

Preferred specialized experience or knowledge

FAR/Gov Contracting and Billing/US GAAP/Costpoint/WAW software

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no authority or responsibility for the supervision of others.

Work Environment, Programs, and Tools

While working in an office environment, this position will frequently be required to sit, talk, listen, use eye acuity, and use hands/fingers to grasp or type. This position will also occasionally require walking and standing.

This position will also frequently require the individual to use the following tools, equipment, or programs: Computers, Microsoft Office suite, Wide Area Work Flow, and Deltek Costpoint.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position will be located at our customer site at Panama City, Florida and will require adherence to the customer’s site hours of operations and facility policies. This is a full-time position, expected to work 40 hours a week and may require more hours during evening or weekends when additional support is required per contract and customer needs.
