Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resources Associate I in the Human Resources Office.

Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, provides front office and general administrative support to the HR Office to include, but not limited to, creating and processing departmental correspondence, preparing financial documents and resolving discrepancies, report generation, maintaining the department’s office supplies, scheduling meetings, as well as completing and following-up on expense/travel/procurement forms. Specifically, processes a variety of HR related documents providing the initial review for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with practices/procedures, follow-up and tracking of required employment documents. Completes periodic I-9 and other audits. Delivers exceptional customer service and support to internal and external customers relating to human resources practices and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years clerical experience, one of which must have involved the application of Human Resources policies and procedures. Human Resources Information System experience required.

Working knowledge of general Human Resources practices and procedures and general knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures to include of business spelling, grammar and punctuation, of modern office practices, procedures systems and equipment, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) as well as internet. Ability to understand and interpret Human Resources policies and procedures; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to maintain poise and courtesy under pressure; to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact; to work independently and as part of a team; to plan, organize, prioritize and execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints with general instructions; to perform mathematical computations; and to operate standard office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: PeopleSoft experience preferred.

This is a full-time, non-exempt State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $35,728 annually, which is approximately $17.13 per hour.
