What We Do
The Urban Investment Group (“UIG”) is a fast growing principal investing and lending business that is aligned with the Special Situations Group (“SSG”). SSG is a global multi-asset class investing and lending business.

You have the opportunity to have a profound impact on Goldman Sachs' Investing and Lending Sector system infrastructure. Working with some of the best investing and lending minds in the industry, you will learn about credit lending, equity investment, real estate investment and tax credits. Leveraging your programming skills and quant skills, you can help to transform this investing and lending business with highly efficient, modern portfolio management system infrastructure. Additionally, UIG seeks to drive "double bottom line" results so you will directly facilitate deploying the firm's capital in communities across the United States, generating both financial return and social impact. UIG is a multi-asset class investing and lending business that invests, largely through public-private partnerships, in the creation and preservation of affordable housing, jobs, neighborhood serving commercial property, and socially minded enterprises that benefit underserved populations and places. The business works closely with other areas of Goldman Sachs in sourcing, evaluating and structuring investment opportunities.
As a quantitative developer, you will create cutting edge models used in lending and private equity sectors to provide insights in market behaviors and to help our business grow.
