We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Process Engineer based in Houston, Texas.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for ongoing engineering support to plant operations and surface production facilities, including troubleshooting, process modeling, performance monitoring, and identification of improvement opportunities (production, safety, efficiency). This position also supports capital facilities projects through process modeling and equipment design development for oil and gas production and treating systems and equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations including troubleshooting of process operating problems, conducting special tests, developing reports, providing technical assistance as required and reporting of production status.
Identify, evaluate, develop, specify, justify, install, and start-up process improvements to increase production capacity, improve operation reliability, reduce manufacturing costs, reduce energy usage, conserve raw material, improve product yields and improve product quality.
Assist plant with OPEX & CAPEX budget tracking and forecasting.
Participate in any opportunity to enhance safety, upgrade environmental safeguards, and provide for the overall optimization of process operation.
Technical owner of relief system sizing basis, plant simulations, and management of change (MOC) process for designated gas plant(s).
Represent and/or assist production and engineering in matters of evaluation, selection and coordination and control of vendors supplying necessary operating services, consulting services, materials, equipment and other needs of operation.
Provide guidance for process design and development of key deliverables such as; PFD, H&MB, P&IDs, Control Narratives/Control Philosophy, Equipment/Valve/Pipe Sizing Calculations, Equipment/Valve/Instrumentation Datasheets, Relief Systems and Flare Design.
Provide guidance on creating and interpreting company engineering standards and industry standards and educate junior engineering staff and operations teams on how these standards apply to upstream oil and gas facility design, engineering, and operation.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a preference in Chemical Engineering
A minimum 3 years (5+ years preferred) of engineering experience in manufacturing & operations environment, onshore oil and gas production, and/or gas conditioning, processing facilities and maintenance functions
Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Expertise in Process Thermodynamic Simulation Software such as; ProMAX and Aspen HYSYS
Expertise in Hydraulic/Fluid Dynamic Simulation Software such as; PipeSIM, PipePHASE, Aspen Flare Net
High proficiency in Microsoft Applications (such as Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Working knowledge of the following:
OSHA Process Safety Management elements and typical safety program requirements (including HAZOPs and Risk Analysis, Management of Change, PSSR)
Industry codes and standards such as API 520 and API 521
Typical rotating and stationary equipment
Process control elements and systems
Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental protection, including considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team
Ability to perform under pressure and work multiple projects concurrently
Able to travel to the field on routine basis (~25%) and work within operating facilities
Strong analytical/problem solving skills, and ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and in the time required
Strong time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with management, technical and field personnel, and third parties

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of upstream oil and gas production and processing, with proficiency in creating process models of oil and gas facilities for design, debottlenecking and optimization.
Knowledge in Heat Transfer for fired equipment in upstream Oil and Gas applications
Experience authoring/editing/reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) including; Start Up/Shut Down, Normal Operation, Temporary Operation, Troubleshooting
High proficiency in Microsoft Applications (such as Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Working knowledge of industry environmental rules and regulations, and how they relate to facility design, engineering, and operation.
