Schedule: Full Time; Monday through Friday 8am-6pm. Must be able to work some weekends and nights.

Details: The Catering Manager will manage up to 10 hourly associates. Responsibilities of this role include:
- Event Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and external clients to plan and coordinate catering for events, including meetings, conferences, and special occasions.
- Develop customized menus to meet specific client needs, including dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Coordinate logistics such as event setup, staffing, and equipment needs.
Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise catering staff, including servers, cooks, and delivery personnel.
- Create work schedules, assign tasks, and manage staff performance to ensure efficient service.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
Customer Service:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and improve services.

Requirement: 2+ years of experience in catering or as a manager in catering or event planning. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with a deep understanding of food and beverage operations. A catering manager on a college campus must be able to adapt to a high-volume environment and meet the diverse needs of the campus community.

Salary Range: $70,000 - 83,000

Summary: As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Catering Department in all duties including training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, and directing any temporary personnel in addition to their everyday assignments. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including proper set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises all catering events.

Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.
- Works with the Chef in creating menus.

Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.

Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.

Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.

Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.

Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.

Catering experience is required.

Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.

Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

ServSafe Certification.
