Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Electrical Supervisor This is a technical supervisory position primarily based at the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. The selected candidate will take ownership of all facility electric and related projects to include maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and related electrical O&M. This position reports to the Operations Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years electrical experience in operations and maintenance services, with a minimum of three years experience in an Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) environment. Knowledge of applicable US Codes and acceptable trade practices. Previous electrical experience in an OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce is desirable. Previous supervisory experience Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical trade, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
Knowledge in the discipline of operations and maintenance projects in an international environment preferred. Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions. Experience working with SOW, electrical diagrams and blueprints. REQUIRED: Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
Completion of a four or five year Electrical Apprenticeship program with a Journeyman Certificate. License Required: Active and current Journeyman or Master Electrician license in any state. Active State driver’s license. Security Vetting: Must obtain an active DOD or DOS clearance as required by the position.
Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract. Language Skills: Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written. Citizenship: US Citizenship is required for this position. Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination.
DESIRED: Relevant overseas Electrical experience Experience working with PAE. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and supporting Electrical functions at an overseas facility. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective. Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team. Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
