Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc. is a 42 year old commercial interior, architectural and engineering firm. At this time we need to add an Interior Designer to our Interiors Studio. We need someone who is tuned into world the way it is now and understands how to carefully listen to a client. This is a design oriented position and requires an understanding of the architectural process as it relates to interiors. The candidate must be able to integrate their talents for the various projects types we are engaged in. The position requires involvement with the activities listed below based on the specific project’s requirements. Listed below is a list of the areas of activity this firm’s Interior Designers become involved with at this office. The successful candidate will hold a BFA from an accredited design school and be able to present a professional portfolio of past projects which should include corporate environments. You may not have experience in all of these areas, but if you understand what they are, then we want to see you.

  • Exceptional creative design ability
  • Ability to interview clients for determining requirements
  • Preparation of a “quick” space planning program for fast projects
  • Ability to prepare space plans of any size using the data collected from the client
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of present day furniture systems.
  • Ability to prepare a bid package for furniture and other required products
  • Selection of materials which include textures, finishes, colors and fabrics
  • Selection of special lighting as appropriate
  • Selection of anything that the interior requires, e.g., appliances, fixtures, accessories, signage, artwork, window and special wall solutions
  • Ability to design and detail custom millwork and/or architectural interior woodworking products
  • Experience with preparing client presentation which can include finishes board and computer generated renderings when required.
  • Ability to prepare a set of Interior Construction Documents including a detailed finish plan.
  • Ability to oversee installation activity at the site
  • In addition to the above, the candidate should be AutoCAD literate with strong experience in AutoCAD. Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
