POSITION OVERVIEW

Karcher Group Incorporated (located in Chantilly, VA) is looking for an Audio Visual Technician to join its growing team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the installation technician staff with onsite audio visual equipment installations for government and commercial clients. This will include, but not be limited to: parts deliveries and maintaining delivery records, pulling parts as needed and loading delivery trucks, assisting with equipment rack set up, performing cable pull paths, crimping and terminating cables, installation of displays, projectors and projection systems, VTC systems, audio hardware and speakers, and control systems. Travel to off site locations as is required. Maintain a professional work appearance and excellent customer interaction. Training will be provided and encouraged.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Computer proficiency

  • Reliable and dependable, able to report to work on time
  • Understanding and proficient use of basic installation hand tools
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work within varied conditions some which may be small or confined
  • Comfortable being on a ladder and on an elevated platform
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • Commitment to work within specified deadlines and provide daily field updates

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Journeyman Electrician or strong knowledge of electronics and signal flow
  • 1+ years applicable work experience in the audio & video industry
  • Ability to read and decipher architectural plans and schematic line drawings
  • Ability to red-line drawings accurately for creation of as-built document
  • Commercial audio/video experience
  • Knowledge and familiarity of Cisco video conferencing equipment
  • IP addressing knowledge or applicable IT background
  • Experience in the installation and troubleshooting of audio, video and control systems
  • Understanding of multi classification networks
  • Infocomm CTS certification is a plus
