This role is accountable for owning the overall strategy and outcomes as related to innovation. Has direct contact with executive stakeholders (C-Suite) and a high degree of independence and executive presence. Conducts analyses, interview clients and their customers, plan and facilitate workshops, translate conclusions into recommendations. Designs, implements and drives forward large-scale organizational-change programs or initiatives.
The Senior Director of Strategy will be responsible for corporate strategy formulation and execution in various areas of the business including Retail, Healthcare, and Pharmacy. In collaboration with senior executives, other senior clients, and M&A team members. Responsible for corporate development activities. By monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting trends, becomes a source of insight with the ability to lead complex cross-functional projects, problem solve, and innovate. Reports Directly to the Global Chief Innovation Officer.
Owns the overall strategy and outcomes for Innovation. Leads the work of multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement strategic initiatives. Conducts strategic analyses, prepares business cases, and performs business intelligence research in order to identify and develop long term opportunities that provide competitive advantage within the markets.
Drives business growth by developing organic and inorganic growth strategy. Develops and drives strategic initiatives based on thought leadership of current trends and analysis relevant to the appropriate domain.
Effectively cascades and implements initiatives properly aligned with the enterprise-wide priorities.
Develops appropriate opportunities to implement strategic priorities and current development efforts.
Defines a robust stakeholder approach to engage the business for an effective end-to-end strategy delivery model. Provides functional and industry expertise to support analysis and review of business development opportunities.
Plans, prioritizes and communicates strategy for the Innovation organization. Develops and oversees the execution of strategic plans. Directs the creation and tracking of key performance and operational metrics. Oversees the business planning process and collaborates with key stakeholders to create high-quality, strategic creative outcomes. Ensure cross-functional partners and stakeholders know when and how to engage in the process. Oversees preparation of competitive intelligence research to potential new business partnerships and/or changes in strategic direction.
Manages relationships with a matrix of leaders across internal stakeholder groups. Collaborates within Strategy to identify opportunities for cross-functional synergies and strategic initiatives. Collaborates with Business Services to enable seamless integration from strategy formulation to execution.
Ensures customer centric innovative programs have a clearly defined objective and plan, and the corresponding success criteria are mapped to company goals and objectives. Presents findings and recommendations up through Executive Committee level.
Reviews the competitive marketplace and make adjustments to operational activities based upon identified information. Make recommendations for the formulation of the strategies and operating plans.
Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for the team; develops and manages department budget and an operational plan; deliver against business goals/objectives. Identifies operational issues and develops, and recommends, implementation strategies to resolve them.
Drives alignment with other development value streams partnering with key stakeholders. Manage current relationships and plan for new and existing strategic innovation partners
Leads work streams and virtual teams. Mentors, coaches, and develops staff through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of rules, and constructive feedback, while building morale and motivation.

Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or investment banking – or – High School Diploma/GED with at least 13 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or investment banking.
Experience collaborating with both internal resources, external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.
Experience presenting recommendations to the Executive Committee.
At least 5 years of experience of strategic analysis.
At least 5 years of experience in business analysis and project management.
At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
At least 5 years of experience of direct leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
Willing to travel up to _15% of the time for business purposes (nationally and/or internationally).
MBA or Master’s degree.
At least 5 years’ experience in a Management Consulting Firm with experience in Healthcare, Retail, or Pharmacy sectors.
