Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class, foundational cloud infrastructure services. The Virtual Networking Team builds the highly customizable Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN) and connectivity services offering predictable and consistent performance, isolation, and availability.
We are the team that delivers both software defined network (SDN) and virtual network features for critical cloud infrastructure. We develop and own the packet processing engines that power the high-speed connectivity that virtual cloud networks are built on top of and also provide core network access control and visibility features. These are exciting times and our team is still young and growing fast, working on ambitious new initiatives. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact.
Are you a hands-on C/C++ programmer with networking or embedded system experience? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative, agile environment and ready to operate a cloud service at scale? Join our team and help us build out a state-of-the-art IaaS network.
- 1+ years of experience with systems/application development
- includes 1+ years of experience with network programming
- Proficient at programming in C/C++, and well-versed with Python or scripting
- Proficient with data structures, algorithms, and the Linux operating system
- Bachelors in computer science and Engineering or related engineering fields
- Experience implementing network protocols and network packet processing products.
- Experience with kernel or embedded systems and hardware/software interactions
- Experience developing fault-tolerant highly-available systems
- Experience with software optimization, performance analysis, and performance testing
- Experience leading and implementing technical projects from conception to ship
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
