Job Description
Position Overview:
This role reports to the Manager, Core Accounting, and is responsible for ensuring the proper reporting and consolidation of US and Canada intercompany activity/balances. This position alone is responsible for the accounting of $500M of intercompany sales. Responsibilities include performing various monthly close procedures, investigating and resolving intercompany imbalances, and executing manual intercompany transactions for non-product related services, intercompany loans, and cash movement. This role calls for strong business partnership with Global Business Services (GBS), logistics/supply chain finance, and various other global accounting/tax/finance partners. Key opportunities for enhancement include intercompany netting automation and Exports accounting best practice implementation. Specific Responsibilities:
This role is primarily responsible for accounting for the following key areas:
Lead month end closing processes for North American Intercompany & Exports
Perform monthly Receivable/Payable netting process for US entities to remit single net payment
Execute recurring recharge entries primarily pertaining to, but not limited to, supply chain finance and US exports
Review/approve routine intercompany transactions submitted by various accounting teams for royalties, management fees, commodity hedging, etc.
Record monthly activity for IC loans (i.e. accrued interest, FX revaluations, etc.)
Work closely with Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Treasury teams
Execute cash repatriation transactions
Post local entries for occasional global tax restructuring projects
Analyze/resolve intercompany imbalances in a timely manner
Partner with the offshore GBS Intercompany Hub (IC Hub) to identify and investigate imbalances
Provide instructions to IC Hub to settle/pay amounts due and/or write-off differences
Maintain balance sheet integrity within Exports business
Drive forward best accounting practices for the Exports legal entity
Gain understanding of current process and implement improvements
Serve as primary administrator of Blackline and SAP Intercompany Journal Entry modules
Support colleages with ad hoc Intercompany/Exports accounting information, questions, and analysis
Complete accurate & timely balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline
Ensure adherance to intercompany accounting principles, SOX and GAAP.
Conduct peer reviews for completeness and accuracy
Ad hoc projects as requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus
3-4 years of corporate and/or public accounting experience with global company/client
Strong SAP foundation
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex, global organization
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and conflict management skills
Outstanding analytical, teamwork, customer service, and leadership skills
