Looking for part-time interns to become/ grow into part-time or full-time employment over period of six to nine months. Full benefits available after one-year full time employment.
Three related companies or divisions to work with.
First Company/Division: builds and runs integrated greenhouses that grow organic herbs, fish, shrimp and various other crops. Will sell locally and throughout New England and NY.
Company's offices are in Amherst MA, but has projects running near Albany and Rotterdam NY. Some travel may be necessary between MA & NY.
Second Company/Division: Designs, consulting and research for Integrated Aquaculture and Hydroponics systems. Supporting organic food, research and production projects in the US and several developing countries, currently Egypt and the Bahamas. Previously in Puerto Rico, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh. Future expansion in several European Union countries.
Third Company: Fish and shrimp Hatchery in Florida. Breeding production, breeding research and new brood stock development.
Looking for two to three people to work in many areas depending on skills:
Some editing of documents and marketing material.
Some work in US capital formations and fundraising for overseas projects.
Some office management and organization.
Some grant writing.
Some computer systems upkeep and web work and basic Mac OS work,
Database management using Filemaker Pro.
Some product research for purchasing of key equipment.
Some technical research & review if applicable skills.
Assisting management with general organizing and task prioritizing.
Drafting skills in Ashlar Vellum preferable, but any drafting skills desirable.
Especially need candidates to be willing to engage with and enjoy an entrepreneurial start-up environment. Tough, crazy and exciting work to begin. Willing to train but strong organizational skills necessary along with some familiarity with and a passion for developing sustainable food and energy systems. Positive and up-beat attitude a must. Background with Macintosh computers, Word, Excel, and Power Point skills a plus. Experience with OS file server and VPN services an extra plus.
