The senior designer reports to the senior director of marketing & creative services. He/she supports the creative strategy, development, and production of marketing and communications print and digital design. The work of the senior designer is essential to the success of marketing communications efforts that engage people with our mission. The senior designer is part of Points of Light’s Marketing & Communications team which is responsible for creating compelling, consistent, high-quality brand communications.
Position Functions and Responsibilities include:
Partner with internal clients to help define project requirements, conceptualize deliverables and ensure timely delivery for Points of Light and its enterprises concept, layout and design of print collateral, digital communications, social media graphics and presentations.
Transform complex ideas, key messages, processes, and models into strong visuals.
Define and apply consistent organizational style and branding.
Develop and refine PowerPoint presentations, including defining and apply creative layouts to presentation slides.
Manage production vendors and production projects.
Manage design request processes, resources and platforms.
Manage design and production of marketing and advertising collateral.
Provide support to clients, departments, and events for design, print, and POL Branding.
Advise on design direction and creation of deliverables.
Report directly to project managers to provide support with deliverables for design comps, revisions, and edits.
Take on projects with minimal supervision.
Take initiative to oversee that departments are equipped with project deliverables and are up to date with recent changes.
Take a proactive role to assist departments and advise on projects insight and direction.
Core Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (all must be job-related)
Handle job requests.
Knowledge of print processes and production, and experience managing production vendors.
Knowledgeable of screening potential vendors.
High level of proficiency in design software and applications, namely Adobe Creative Suite.
High level of proficiency in web and multimedia design.
Strong experience with HTML and CSS including designing HTML- based emails.
Strong experience designing print and promotional collateral including brochures, t-shirts, signage, and publications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
Able to manage competing projects under tight deadlines and be flexible when priorities shift.
Ability to problem solve; ability to plan and organize work.
Ability to coordinate and handle multiple priorities.
Ability to show flexibility in response to change and adapt to and accommodate new methods and procedures.
Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts or interactive design.
4+ years’ experience with an agency or internal creative team.
Strong experience with HTML and CSS including designing HTML preferred.
