The Relationship Associate partners with internal Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Trust Officers in managing the wealth and financial needs of High Net Worth individuals and families. The Relationship Associate (RA) interacts directly with clients and follows-up on ongoing client deliverables.
As Relationship Associates gain more experience, they take on greater responsibility on smaller client relationships so that Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Trust Officers can focus on larger and more complex client relationships.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Relationship Associate?
Works with internal Relationships Managers (RMs), Portfolio Managers, and Trust Officers on HNW family relationships (and prospects) including: account administration, preparing wealth projections, preparation of cash flows, fee reviews, preparation of PowerPoint presentations for client meetings, etc.
Initiates wire transfers, discretionary principal payments, currency transactions, bill paying, and gifts & contributions.
Coordinates trust terminations and account closing in coordination with our Trust Counsel and Tax Department.
Partners with the RM to understand client goals. This may entail attending client meetings with the RM and better understanding the clients’ extended family and subsequent generations. The RA should be able to prioritize client goals while developing solutions.
Ensures all areas of expertise within Fiduciary are leveraged as necessary to best service client.
New Account Openings: Analyzes relevant documents to begin KYC. Reviews account openings with RM to determine proper administration of account, state law requirements, beneficiaries, tax suits, fee analysis, etc.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. MBA or JD a plus
2-5 years’ experience in financial services with client-facing experience required
CPA or CFP desired, but not required.
Desire to learn and grow within the client service model
Basic knowledge of competitors
Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulation model a plus
Skills, & Abilities:
Trust Administration background and knowledge preferred; ability to review and interpret trust language.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while balancing the needs of the client
Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle client account information with discretion.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Strong analytical skills with the ability to think strategically as it relates to client needs.
Self-starter with strong problem solving skills.
Ability to practice good judgment while making basic business decisions.
Ability to handle various projects and deadlines and prioritize each task appropriately.
