Duties
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure the dimensions of manufactured parts. Zeiss - Calypso experience a plus.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine measurement requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to perform accurate measurements.
- Perform inspections on machined parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Create detailed inspection reports documenting measurement results and any deviations from specifications.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Skills
- Proficient in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Strong knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with CNC machining operations.
- Ability to fabricate fixtures or tooling as needed for CMM measurements.
- Excellent understanding of precision measuring instruments and their use in quality control.
- Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
