Job Summary: Responsible for administrative functions of medical practices as assigned by the practice manager/director and/or division director/administrator. Assists practice manager/director in daily operations and/or coordination of a specific practice site. Performs the administrative and clerical components of patient encounters by providing the insurance and referral management functions, counsels patients regarding their financial responsibility for services provided, and functions as the primary practice resource for insurance information. Acts in a supervisory role under the site/practice manager of the department. Responsible for oversight of clerical /support staff.

Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent required. Three years minimum experience in a physician office practice required. Knowledge and working use of medical terminology required. Knowledge of and experience with third party and managed care plans. The ability to work with interruptions and adapt to rapidly changing priorities. Exercise independent judgment. Advanced computer and typing skills. Exceptional organizational skills. Excellent service behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred.

Supervisory experience preferred.
