About this role:
As a member of the leadership team, this role oversees and directs the Human Resources function and all aspects relating to the organization’s key ingredient to success: it’s people!
As lead influencer of the company culture, this role harmonizes employee programs, policies, benefits, etc to be tempting, tasteful and engaging and also in compliance with high standards and HAPPI values. This delicate blend is delivered through close partnership with management members and the everyday employee processes and activities at CRG and at all restaurants. This role ensures that all HR activities and systems are refreshed, updated and constantly in support of the company’s needs, plans and long term direction.
Such HR functional activities include but are not limited to:
Organization design, recruitment & hiring, training, coaching & development, compensation, benefits & rewards, employee relations, performance management & engagement, HRIS, and company culture integration.
What you do:
Act as the representative employee advocate on the company’s leadership team to guide organization structure, roles and responsibilities, programs, policies, and people decisions that are aligned with strategic direction and values and in consideration of employee performance motivators
Partner with all restaurant General Managers to build a trusting and fluid relationship where people decisions and employee relations are made in support of and balance the collective company position and strategy, their local needs and the employee’s best interest
Know all the employees in the company. Have a presence in the field at all restaurants (which means visits to) so that employees know about the the HR role and develop a comfort level to be communicative with Human Resources.
Define and lead a competitive, efficient and cost effective recruitment strategy and assessment process that matches the best people to open jobs. Manage all management level hiring/recruitment efforts, including defining sourcing plan, screening resumes and nurturing the candidate experience through hire or release.
Manage and are accountable for maintaining a functional Human Resources budget
Define and manage a competitive compensation philosophy and practices that attract and retain exempt and hourly employees in their roles. Manages relevant individual and group recognition and rewards programs that incent, motivate and engage employees to perform at their best in their jobs based on level, marketplace or other individual factors
Coordinates training plan for salaried staff in conjunction with Training Director, General Manager and/or Executive Chef and monitors implementation of manager training to ensure effectiveness; Directs and coordinates management development programs, skills growth plans and career paths, in coordination with CRG team and CEO
Responsible for ensuring competitiveness and administration of all health and welfare benefits programs including plan implementation, change management, communication, renewals, tracking, including upon exit i.e, COBRA notification and payment monitoring
Implement and monitor effective performance management system for company wide adoption. Participate in manager performance reviews and deliver other coaching and feedback processes and training.
Foster a culture of respect in the workplace. Oversee delivery of proactive preventative training i.e, Harassment, Discrimination, Diversity etc to ensure compliance. Investigates and resolves all complaints.
Manage, update and retain all employe communication documents for clear purpose, relevance and efficiency: handbooks, forms, training manuals and other HR materials
Ensure overall and administrative HR compliance: HR policies and practices are relevant and aligned to the company’s goals and carried out consistently and fairly; Monitors and manages workers compensation activities for all restaurants; Manages a document retention and employee database of all CRG personnel files

What you bring:
6+ years experience in Human Resources field. Minimum 3 years in leadership role. Management experience preferred
Hospitality industry background, preferably in restaurant. Food service and field experience highly desirable
SPHR or PHR a plus
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in experience required. Plus with majors or concentration in Human Resources Management, Industrial or Organizational Psychology, or Business Administration
Experience in HRIS systems and payroll system management
Ability to travel a few times per quarter out of state and more regularly on local restaurant field visits.
