The Integrated Planning and Policy group provides fully integrated planning and management as well as project development services for our clients. The group encompasses four national practice areas: Planning and Policy; Freight and Economics; Safety; and Transit and Shared Mobility. We apply our national knowledge and leadership while leveraging the strength of regional expertise to bring experience from across the country and extensive Federal level to intimate understanding of our clients’ needs.
We are looking to add a Project Manager to the team in Oakland. The Project Manager provides leadership and support in the definition and implementation of statewide and regional planning studies, multimodal corridor studies, transit and shared mobility studies, active transportation studies, freight studies, transportation policy analysis, land use analysis, environmental analysis and others. With more limited day-to day supervision s/he undertakes work of a progressively more complex nature, interprets the results of his/her own analysis, and continues to learn more complex tools. S/he guides and reviews the work of more junior staff, provides project management support, serves as a task leader on larger projects, assists with proposal preparation and begins to develop skills in the Project Management or Business Development tracks. The Project Manager develops collaborate relationships with current and prospective clients, proactively identifies future leads, and develops teaming relationships with other consulting firms as part of proactive and reactive marketing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Produces and delivers exceptional quality work that is thorough, polished, and reflects well on CS •Provides exceptional value-added service to project managers and/or clients and communicates consistently with internal and external team members •Actively listens and seeks to understand client or project manager needs •Meets chargeability expectations
•Delivers all projects on-time, on-budget, and to the client or project manager’s satisfaction •Provides constructive and ongoing feedback to project team members •Provides clear direction to all project staff regarding project objectives and their role in achieving them •Develops and implements project delivery plan for each project •Updates project staffing in CS staffing program on time each month •Reviews and submits invoices and progress reports on time
•Participates in regional, business line, and other business development initiative meetings to identify and coordinate BD and marketing activities •Contributes to sound bid/no-bid decisions •Develops effective win themes, teaming strategies, pricing strategies, and technical content for all proposals in area of responsibility •Builds and maintains long-term client relationships and actively listens to their needs •Maintains post-delivery communication with clients to ensure long-term satisfaction and to prospect for repeat/expanded business •Builds strong positive relationships with management, NPLs and senior consultants, and marketing & communications staff to develop winning proposals
